Minutes: February 17, 2004

Tri-Cities Magicians' Society

Meeting called to order on February 17 th , 2004 at Café 541 (541 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN).

Members Present: Jim Dennis, Wallace Redd, Paul Herrell, & Steve Schroering

Guests Present: Gary Hayes, Kevin Morrell, Eddie Richards, Jason Moseley

Old Business: Meeting to continue on the third Tuesday of each month.

New Business: The group discussed the Milbrook Elem. School magic show scheduled for March 23. All members and non-members who are interested were encouraged to participate. This will be a fund raiser for the club, approx. $200, to help with future club activities. Approximately one hour show will be provided, Wallace to MC, other members to perform magic. Will evaluate if the auditorium is sufficient for the show and if one or two shows will be required.

Paul & Wallace discussed their recent trip to Magifest and the activities and talent which they were privileged to observe.

Gary Hayes noted that SEAM (South Eastern Assoc of Magicians) convention will be in Nashville this year, and will be September 3rd &4th. John Carney, John Mendoza, David Garrard, and Stephen Bargatze are scheduled to appear.

Kevin Morrell noted Aldo Columbini will lecture in Murfreesboro on March 15 th .

Reminder: Tom Gibson will lecture in Clarksville (TCMS) on April 13 th .

Meeting time moved up to 6:30PM to allow members who have to leave early more time to be present. Arriving late is encouraged if members can't get there that early.

Magic session begins:

Wallace performed Tribute to Verone, Honest Abe, Popeyed Popper, and multiple other effects.

Paul performed a birthday party routine, Wild Money, Chinese coins, and a rope trick.

Jim performed patriotic ropes.

Steve performed card trick PHIL and Princess trick with a blank card, great trick Steve.

Kevin performed effect with bills changing before your eyes, amazing.

Jason performed multiple card tricks, Astonishing Jokers, Coins across variation, and multiple other miracles.

Gary performed a four ace production which happened in the spectators hands, shocking stuff.

Magic was still going on when this member had to leave an 9PM.

Thanks to all who attended, fun was had by all and camaraderie was excellent.

Next meeting March 16 th at 6:30PM.
