Tri-Cities Magicians' Society
Meeting called to order on March 16th , 2004 at Café 541 (541 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN).
Members Present: Jim Dennis, Paul Herrell, Charles Rhodes, & Steve Schroering
Old Business: Meeting to continue on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM.
The upcoming Millbrooke Elementary School Magic Show (Magic Fest 2004) was discussed. The show is scheduled for March 23rd at 6:00PM. A practice session is scheduled at Millbrooke on March 18th at 6:00PM. All performers are encouraged to get a Bio. to Wallace or myself by that time. Wallace will use these during the introduction of each performer. The “stage” setup details were discussed and that it was to be done in the gymnasium was also discussed. Each act was discussed and the effects each performer is to do described so that there would be as little repetition as possible. Charles will be scheduled somewhere in the second half of the show since he has to come all the way from Nashville, allowing him more time to get to the school. The club will make $200.00 for the show and can use this money to help arrange lectures, and other activities. After fairly long discussion about this the matter was concluded and all that could possibly attend the practice session will meet on March 18 th as planned for a dry run through.
The magic began:
Jim Dennis performed a flurry of effects: Crazy Eights, Factory Rejects, a coin trick, Crazy Man's Handcuffs, Broken and Restored rubber band, NFW, Halduciantion, Color changing Knife.
Paul Herrell performed and effect with string of pearls to doggie, Jokers Dilemia, and a origami tube production.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00PM following some discussion of magic history with Jim Dennis.
