Tri-Cities Magicians' Society

The meeting began at approximately 6:40 pm on June 16th, 2004. Location 541 Café (541 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN).

Members Present: Wallace Redd, Paul Herrell, Jim Dennis, & Charles Rhodes.

Wallace announced that he had received an email from Danny Archer and there are presently no lecturers scheduled for this area.

Paul announced his continued work on a booklet to promote the clubs' performances in the future. Only requires some information from one member to complete.

IBM, SAM, SEAM meetings were announced and dates reviewed. Most members plan on attending the SEAM meeting, none to attend IBM, some may attend SAM.

Wallace brought up a magic competition to be sponsored by TCMS, and to be open to the public, details to be finalized, but tentative date set for October 19, 2004. Entrance fee, $10-$20 to be charged, any magic allowed, judged by laypeople or audience. Prizes of trophy and possible money prize.

Jim Dennis gave the treasurer's report.

Meeting broke for magic: Theme for meeting was cups and balls. Wallace started with a cup and ball routine, followed by Paul with a cups and balls, cups and balls routine. These were followed by Jim's chop cup routine and Charles cups and balls routine. After each person performed, constructive tips and discussion were entertained. Cups and balls routines were discussed, moves traded and examined, variations shared. It was enjoyed by all and productive for all involved.

Following the cups and balls segment, Wallace performed All Screwed up, Jim performed Premonition, wild card, & 3 1/2 of clubs. Discussion then followed involving several sleights with cards: Buckle move, forces, glide, etc.

Membership certificates were signed by the president (Wallace) and given to each of the members.

Meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:30 pm and all left as we each discussed magic history, new dvd's, and other magical topics on the way to the parking lot.
