TriCities Magicians' Society
The meeting began at approximately 6:30 pm on November 18, 2004. Location: 541 Café (541 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN).
Members Present Daryl Grace, Kyle Gray, Wallace Redd, Jim Dennis, Charles Rhodes, & Paul Herrell
Wallace started the meeting by announcing that the Battle of the Wizards went very well and all congratulated Daryl on winning the competition. Some discussion was carried out about how to improve it. We will probably separate the judges next time so they can each have a different perspective of the magic and so they will not influence each others scoring. We will probably offer the judges a t-shirt or dinner next time for their efforts, which is what we did this time. Many thanks to all who competed and helped.
Daryl and Kyle were presented with membership certificates by the President, Wallace Redd, and welcomed officially to the club.
Paul distributed the members the knit shirts which he had made.
Paul discussed the Trigg County show for the Relay for Life. It will be on November 22nd at 7:00 PM. Members can contribute to Relay for Life and TCMS will keep proceeds at the door. Wallace, Daryl, Jim, Charles, and Paul to perform. Plan approximately 1 hour show.
Paul discussed the show in Clarksville for the Foster children on December 4th at 2PM. Wallace, Jim, and Paul to perform. Plan approximately 45 min - 1 hour show.
Paul discussed a show that we have been requested to do on December 11th in Hopkinsville, for the Parade for Pennies. It is strickly volunteer and the club will make no money but would be excellent public service. Jim and Daryl to perform. Unsure of exact type of performance desired, possibly walk around, Paul will check on details and get back to Jim and Daryl.
The treasury balance was discussed and it was noted that membership dues are due at the next meeting.
Discussion of next meeting, plan on a banquet and Wallace/Paul will arrange a magician to perform for the December meeting. Members decided to invite guests to attend so friends and family are welcome to enjoy the show also. All who attend will be responsible for their own food and drink.
Election of officers will be carried out at the December meeting.
